About Joseph Walewski
I've been interested in biology and the public health field ever since I was a little kid. While initially I was helping take care of my grandparents and finding newts in the local ponds, my interest has grown with me to pursuing an MD/PHD program. Throughout my college years I've been working with Professor Douglass on researching optimal strategies to assemble large, repetitive genomes such as that of the Eastern newt; to gain clinical experience I have been volunteering at Lawrence Memorial and Bridgeport Hospitals as well as shadowing doctors in the Yale Neurology department.
