About Josh Apple

I am the Director of Player Development for the Piedmont Club in Haymarket, VA. As a full-time instructor, I work with players of all ages and abilities but I specialize in coaching elite high school and college golfers. I previously served as the Director of Instruction of the Raspberry Golf Academy, a group with five locations in Northern Virginia. I began as an Apprentice Instructor in 2016, was promoted to Staff Instructor, then was promoted to Senior Staff Instructor, and finally was promoted to Director in 2022. I have also previously served as an Assistant Coach for the George Mason University Golf team, having played for George Mason in my collegiate career. I have served as the coach for multiple high school golf teams as well. I have been playing professional golf since graduating from college in 2012. I played on the top developmental tours full time for several years before becoming an instructor and continue to compete professionally today. In addition, I am a freelance multi-media sports journalist with experience in writing, videography and broadcasting. I am the Instruction Editor of the Virginia Golfer Magazine, the official magazine of the Virginia State Golf Association. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication/Sports Journalism from George Mason and was the Sports Editor of the student media outlets during my time in school.
