About Josh Calhoun

I’m a seasoned Leader and Project Director with more than 20 years’ experience planning and executing turnkey telecom and infrastructure projects, stewarding multi-million-dollar capital and operational budgets and delivering state-of-the-art solutions across Canada. I bring more than 20 years’ experience in risk assessment and mitigation, security, and operational efficiency, managing and mobilizing complex teams, and owning scheduling, budgeting, cost control, design-build, process creation, migration planning, deployment strategy, and all communications. I’ve spent the bulk of my career with Xplore Inc, and currently serve as the Regional Director, Network Deployment & Field Operations for Quebec and Atlantic Canada, leading a scalable team of ~80 project, construction management, network planning, and field staff across senior/mid-management and technical roles to plan and deliver large scale wireless and wireline design and build deployment solutions. I steward $500M in multiyear wireless and wireline capital deployment programs and am accountable for $1M in annual maintenance and repair OPEX across 5 provinces. The mission-critical nature of my work requires a “risk-conscious” approach and absolute compliance with regulatory bodies such as the CRTC and CSA. I’m recognized for competence in assessing, detecting, and communicating potential risk, conveying complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders to ensure a sound understanding of threats and risk mitigation strategies. I have also championed many generations of technology updates and rollouts (3G, WiMAX, 4G, 5G, Fiber-to-the-Home), identifying gaps, making connections, proposing solutions, influencing leadership, and seeing projects through to successful completion. An agile and responsive leader, I coordinate and coach multiple internal and external teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
