About Josh Daniel

AI Engineer | NLP, ML, & Software Engineering I’m an AI Engineer based in Tokyo, Japan with a strong passion for Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and Software Engineering, dedicated to delivering end-to-end innovative solutions with AI. My interdisciplinary background and leadership have proven essential in providing effective ML and NLP solutions across a range of industries. My education at the University of Toronto has equipped me with a solid foundation in Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Statistical Science, and Political Science. This multidisciplinary approach has allowed me to develop a comprehensive understanding of AI, NLP, and Computational Linguistics, shaping my ability to tackle complex real-world problems. In my academic career, I became very passionate in Philosophy and Linguistics, particularly its application in research and production, and thus the relevance of NLP and Computational Linguistics in AI propelled me into AI Engineering. My experience spans from R&D NLP teams to the development of data pipelines, API engineering, and Cloud resource management in large, medium and start-up sized businesses. In these roles, I have had the opportunity to work with cutting-edge ML and NLP technologies, such as Agentic frameworks and LLMs, Audio models, and the rest of the languages and frameworks along their production development pipeline. As a linguaphile, I love learning languages and about languages, and I am eager to continue leveraging my passion and expertise in AI, NLP, and Machine Learning to drive innovation and make a lasting impact in the industry.
