About Josh Dickerson

I'm a Process Development Engineer at CREE, Inc. in Durham, NC, where I work on the luminescent materials R&D team. Previously I was an intern at HMRI, a fuel cell technology startup, where I lead my own project involving the upscaling of an electroplating process which included CAD design, additive manufacturing, machine work, SEM analysis, and record keeping both physically and with Microsoft Office products. I graduated from NC State University with a B.S. Materials Science and Engineering in May, 2017. Throughout my college career, I conducted undergraduate research for 3 years and obtained a research grant from the Office of Undergraduate Research each of these years. My research included the characterization of the swelling kinetics of sulfonated block ionomer hydrogels, and has been published in "Hydrothermal Conditioning of Physical Hydrogels Prepared from a Midblock-Sulfonated Multiblock Copolymer" in the Macromolecular Rapid Communications Journal. Peers and colleges know me as a dedicated and persistent individual who can always be trusted to accomplish the task at hand. I am both an Eagle Scout and an Engineering Graduate, showing my personal perseverance when faced with difficult undertakings. I always want to learn more, which is why I chose to engage myself in a constantly evolving field. I can work well alone, but I'm at my best when collaborating with a team.
