About Josh Edwards

As Head of Outdoor Education at Carey Baptist Grammar School, I lead a dynamic and evolving department committed to delivering meaningful, place-based learning experiences that shape confident, reflective, and capable young people. My leadership is grounded in strategy, collaboration, and care. I work alongside a talented team to design and deliver a sequential P–9 Outdoor Education program that aligns with the school’s vision and values. Together, we foster a culture of continuous improvement—where reflective practice, staff development, and student wellbeing are central to everything we do. I’m passionate about creating environments where both students and staff can thrive. This includes mentoring emerging leaders, embedding inclusive practices, and building strong partnerships across the school and sector. I believe in the power of outdoor learning to foster meaningful connections, confidence, and a sense of community. Outdoor Education creates space for students to become change agents for a better world—through experiences that are responsive to place, grounded in reflection, and rich with opportunity for personal and collective growth.
