Background
About Josh Ente
I've proudly chosen a non-linear path, and I’ve used my career as a playground to explore what is most valuable to me about work: learning, relationships, and meaningful impact. The impact I'm working towards: that others cooperate with more courage, humility, and joy, and they’re enabled to pay that forward. One guiding metric for my own sense of success is how many different people feel safe around me. My most recent chapter (the last 5+ years) has been devoted to exploring why work so often sucks, and searching for another way: it doesn’t have to suck at all! I've held roles as a collaborator and leader of comprehensive consulting engagements focused on DEI, organization design/transformation, and the future of work for household-name clients across all sectors. Now, I understand, innovate, and share practices that enable better connection among complex groups tackling hard problems. I water organizations' soil with pragmatic, principled ways of working and a hopeful spirit: individuals can grow from alienation into belonging; teams can mature from chaos to coherence; and systems (sometimes) evolve from haunted by scarcity and inadequacy to grounded in abundance and adaptability. It’s all My presence with clients is roughly distributed among leaders (50%), managers and teams (25%) and cross-functional blends (25%). I'm most in command with mission-driven orgs, bearing a torch that humanizes the fog of process, culture, and systems. My jams- Coaching: nurturing self-awareness in service of broader outcomes - Consulting: sensing tensions, synthesizing/presenting options with a POV, advising and delivering solutions - Facilitation: designing containers to steer groups toward outcomes - Project Management: stewarding workflows thoughtfully, transparently, and adaptively - Communication/content creation/presentation: saying what needs to be said, in as few words/visuals/ways needed to be accessible - Org design + learning & development: crafting structures and experiences to advance maturity from any starting point - Manifesting and experimenting: surfacing patterns and opportunities, then initiating creative solutions that yield value and lessons - Team leadership: developing talent with authentic care and high standards - Sales, but I can’t just turn that on, gotta believe in the product - Self-management: practicing continuous awareness, regulation, and growth - Levity: if we can't laugh and exhale, what’s the point- Parenting and everything that comes with that: this is my favorite part of life
