Background
About Josh Hingst
Josh Hingst enters his 8th season as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach with the Philadelphia Eagles bringing 10 years of NFL experience. In 2013, his first year with the Eagles, Hingst played a major role in the implementation of the NFL’s first sports-science driven training system, introducing technologies such as Catapult-GPS Tracking, Omegawave, Eliteform and Coach-Me Plus that culminated in an NFC East Championship that year. Hingst continued to help the Eagles remain on the forefront of new sports training technologies by utilizing Forcedecks, Nordboard, Blood Biomarker & Microbiome testing and Zebra Tracking Systems. The Eagles finished as the healthiest team in the league in 2016 based on games lost due to injury. The team finished 3rd and 5th in 2013 and 2014 and overall in the top 10 five times while leading the program. During this time, the Eagles succeeded on the field becoming Superbowl Champions in 2017, returning to the Divisional Round in 2018 and winning 3 NFC East titles. After the 2017 season Hingst was awarded the Professional Strength & Conditioning Association Champions Award. Hingst utilizes a variety of strength, speed, and power methods to individualize programing for each athlete. Prior to Philadelphia, Hingst served as the Assistant Strength Coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars (2011-12) where he played an integral role implementing GPS tracking to monitor player training loads, the first use of this technology in the NFL. Prior to joining the Jaguars, Hingst was the Director of Sports Nutrition at the University of Nebraska Lincoln (2009-12) where he directed fueling practices for all 21 Sports. Before his time at UNL Hingst served as the Team Nutritionist for the Atlanta Falcons (2008-09) overseeing nutrition and assisting in strength and conditioning capacities. He began his career as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning coach at Florida State University (2004-08). In 2013 Hingst published “The Athlete’s Guide to Sports Supplements” and has written for industry publications throughout his career. He speaks regularly at conferences, holds a masters degree and is working towards a doctorate. Hingst is a Registered Dietician, a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and has completed a number of professional development courses in the areas of speed, movement development, postural restoration, and functional manual therapy techniques. A native of Hooper NE, Josh and his wife, Megan, have one daughter, June.
