About Josh Timms

I am a construction estimator working in the building construction industry. I began my career in 2012 working as a structural engineer, before transitioning into the construction management stream early in 2016 and finally into the estimating field in 2021. From 2012 to late 2015 I worked as a structural engineer designing footing and framing systems (timber and steel) for residential and commercial developments, as well as some civil design. In 2016, I transitioned into the construction management stream and started working as a Site Engineer for Watpac in Victoria. After 2 years I moved interstate with Watpac to work in their South Australian branch, which I enjoyed very much. From Watpac, I accepted a position with Hansen Yuncken SA to work on a hospital extension, where I learned a great deal about health projects. After this project, I transitioned into the estimating field specialising in ceilings and partitions and have enjoyed it immensely. I am able to take-off a wide array of construction materials as I have extensive on-site experience from my time working for Tier 1 builders. I have a Bachelors Degree in Civil & Infrastructure Engineering from RMIT University; I completed my degree in 2012 with First Class Honours.
