About Joshua Jones

Junior R&D Engineer with emphasis on hardware development and PCB design. Current position at PRE Power Developers is mostly concerned with PCB design. Previous position of 'graduate intern' was converted to current position after graduate project was reorganized internally. New graduation work to be commenced in September 2022 at the Delft University of Technology. Background in Electrical Engineering at the Delft University of Technology, specializing in Electrical Power Engineering with a selected profile of Power Electronics & Electrical Machines. Personal main area of interest is analysis, simulation, design and/or testing of electronic power converters for grid-connected or machine-drive applications. Veteran user of software package Altium Designer for PCB design work. Modest experience in 3D CAD mainly through Fusion 360 by Autodesk and CATIA from Dassault Systèmes. Alumnus of Formula Student Team Delft (FSTD). Active participant throughout the years 2014-2018, where I developed most of my practical skills. Latter years included a contribution to the effort to develop the first ever custom traction inverter package with essentially zero prior knowledge or experience in this particular matter. Still involved as an alumnus in a knowledge-transfer capacity, engineering education has essentially become a hobby of mine. Further practical skills developed at FSTD include machining, both conventional machining as well as CNC machining to a limited degree.
