About Joshua Klein

My name is Josh Klein and I am a recent graduate of Georgetown University and the Walsh School of Foreign Service. Receiving my Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service, I studied Culture and Politics with a focus on Political Communications. Many of my experiences listed have contributed positively to my development as a student, advocate, and leader. In the past I have interned for SKDK, for the Deborah Ross for US Congress campaign, and in the Office of Science Technology, and Innovation in the North Carolina Department of Commerce. For SKDK, I worked as a public affairs intern, drafting tweets, press releases, and talking points for non-profits and Fortune 500 companies to further their communications goals. For the Ross campaign, I served as a graphic designer, working to increase their online engagement and boost the campaign message. Lastly, in 2019 I worked as a research intern in North Carolina state government, compiling data for the 2019 Tracking Innovation Report, as well as collecting information on the southeast region’s energy economy. In addition, I worked in Excel to map funding for the One North Carolina Small Business Program for over 270 companies. Prior to my experience in state government, I co-founded a non-profit organization called, Bundle Up Durham, to collect new and used winter clothing for the nearly 900 homeless students in the Durham Public Schools community. In my position as co-founder I was able to work on skills like public speaking, social media, and graphic design. During my time with Bundle Up Durham, we have collected over coats, raised over and partnered with organizations such as Duke Men’s Basketball. Outside of work, my hobbies and interests include, running, playing basketball, reading, and doing graphic design. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions.
