Finances Are Confusing, Aren’t They?After getting married and graduating shortly after with my bachelor of science degree, I quickly realized that, in the various stages of life, the way you live life and handle finances looks very different. But how could my wife and I get on the same page and “keep up” with all of the “financial lingo”? We chose to take a financial literacy seminar given at our church and it changed our marriage! I had always believed that I was financially “savvy” enough to know/learn what I needed to know on my own but my wife constantly felt she was the opposite. She didn't feel like she knew enough. We needed someone to show us the “gaps” in our financial knowledge as well as challenge the both of us with what we could be doing for the future. The future for our marriage, the future for our finances, and the future for our savings/retirement goals. Our plans went from generic “long-shots” to very specific and tangible goals.Knowing how much having a plan helped my wife and I, I chose to give that same help to as many people as I could. I was soon hired into a financial advisory firm and gained my Life/Health/Annuity Insurance License, as well as my Series 6 & 63 Licenses.
