About Joshua Nelson

Hello, thank you for visiting my profile. Let me tell you something about myself. I am from Washington State, went to school in Federal Way, and eventually meandered my way through an education at Highline College before moving on to the University of Washington Tacoma. I have worked professionally as a writer since 2011 and have relished applying those skills towards a satisfying career focused on safety and quality. Raising the standards in both regards is essential to a cohesive and engaging work environment. I am an avid supporter of workers' rights, and fully believe that the current work environment is both outdated and unnecessary. Workers' rights have been eroded over the course of the last 40 years and it's a practice that needs to stop. With every new union organized there is hope for a more equal future. Unfortunately, the change that is absolutely necessary is going to be painful and take longer than it should. But how much better would this world be if education were free, healthcare were covered by the state, and the people can hold officials accountable for their actions? I believe stories are the key to strong interaction. We relate to one another through stories of our experience, we empathize and sympathize as we learn and grow. Sometimes the very best stories come from complete strangers and we are made better for it. So, if you have a chance to interact with me, tell me a story. Hopefully I'll have one for you as well. As I continue to grow, learn, and achieve, I am reminded that aspirational goals are the very foundation of what makes me who I am. To steal a phrase from one of my heroes,"I aspire, sir, to be better than I am. B-4 does not."
