Background
About Joshua Richards
I started my journey helping others when I was a child. It has shaped who I have become today. Since 2012, I have studied and helped others on their health journies. After completing my Associates of Science degree in Sports Medicine in the spring of 2015, I moved to Wichita, Kansas to attend Wichita State University (WSU). In December 2017, I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise Science with a heavy emphasis on injury recovery and psychology. I was blessed with an opportunity to continue my education under Nicole Rogers, PhD and Michael Rogers, PhD at WSU. In December 2019, I graduated with my Masters of Arts degree in healthcare and Masters of Arts Certification in public health. Both degrees emphasized exercise, activity, and lifestyle/habits. I started my professional career in fitness at WSU in the fall of 2015. I trained and worked at WSU as a group fitness instructor until summer 2018. I taught classes that ranged from cycle/cardio classes to high intensity bootcamps, such as F45. In July of 2017, I started working for the Greater Wichita YMCA (the Y) as a personal/group trainer, group instructor, nutrition coach, corporate wellness coach and trainer, biometric screener and coach, and special population fitness specialist. In January of 2018, I started teaching older adult fitness classes during graduate school. I taught these classes for over 20 hours a week until December of 2019. That following January, through May of 2021, I started teaching at WSU as an adjunct professor for the fitness practicum. In August of 2020, I accepted a role as the group exercise coordinator for the downtown branch of the Y. I held this title until my departure from the Y in late 2021. From there I moved to Opti-Life Vitality Club and Spa as the Group Exercise Director in December of 2021. I remained there until God took me another direction in May of 2022. I have continued to work in health and fitness, and am excited to finally launch Live ALIGNED!
