About Joshua Simmonds

I am a University of Miami (RSMAS) graduate who is looking for experiences related to marine ecosystem restoration, Ecosystem Based Management (EBM), and marine ecosystem research. I have experience working with people from different ethnic and age demographics from my experiences as a People - to - People ambassador (Europe and Australia) and my work in the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef (Mexico). I have experience with data collection, public relations, project management, and ecological conservation from my time working with various marine conservation organizations. I was a member of the conservation and research/nesting departments at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach, Florida. Additionally, I have worked with The Science Exchange and Centro Ecologico Akumal, where I helped bolster their research on the corals and reef fishes of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef in addition to assisting staff with coral outplanting and restoration. I have worked with A.I.S, Inc. as a fishery observer for their OFRP and POP programs. Currently, I am working with Junior Scientists in the Sea (JSIS) as a scientific diver and a training to be a divemaster.
