Hey there, I'm Joshua—a passionate graduate student on a mission to shape the future of education. Currently, I'm on an academic adventure, pursuing my Master of Education (M.Ed) in Elementary Education. My journey, though, is more than just textbooks and lectures; it's about nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning. By day, I wear the hat of the San Gabriel Valley Program Manager at Upstage Theater Schools. Here, I leverage my skills in community building, program management, and education to curate awe-inspiring youth theater experiences for our talented students. Witnessing their growth and creativity is truly a rewarding experience. ​ My path in education was paved with my past experiences working closely with students. It was a natural progression for me to aspire to be a teacher, and I've discovered a special fondness for elementary school grades. Once I've earned my master's degree, my sights are set on a fulfilling career teaching Kindergarten, where I can lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. Looking further ahead, I dream of diving into the world of educational policy and reform. A Ph.D. is on my radar, as I envision contributing to the transformation of our educational landscape. ​ When I'm not immersed in school or crafting theatrical wonders, you'll find me outdoors. I'm an avid runner who revels in the freedom of the open road. Los Angeles has been my home since my college graduation, but I carry my Chicago roots with pride. I believe in savoring the simple pleasures of life, like a well-brewed cup of coffee, and I have a knack for watching "hit shows" just a tad fashionably late.
