About Joslin Isla

In my academic experience, I have completed both an Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Modesto Junior College and Stanislaus State University. I immersed myself in collaborated volunteer work through a sisterhood organization on campus, Alpha Xi Delta. Our philanthropy, during my time in chapter, was centered around benefitting the organization, Autism Speaks. Even though I had long ago chosen psychology as my major, I developed a profound passion for community work and wanting to be part of the solution in eradicating the negative stigma surrounding mental and behavioral health, along with receiving its services. I actively participated in the sisterhood for the 2 years I attended Stanislaus State. Through work at Planet Fitness, I had the opportunity to volunteer for the Boys and Girls Club by visiting elementary schools to set up obstacle courses for children, with the organizations aim to stop bullying. My work experience there has aided me in developing excellent customer service and comfortability working with diverse populations of people, as well as giving me more opportunities to take on leadership roles in the workforce. All together, I have gained at least 6 years of experience with customer service and leadership roles both in the workplace and through my academic journey. I was promoted to Shift Lead / Supervisor and was in charge of opening the store location. My current employer, Autism Behavior Services, has put me in the psychology field. I have been trained and certified as an Applied Behavior Analysis Technician since April 2024. I have been able to use my learned skills to apply this method of behavior analysis to the cases I have been assigned to and have connected to the families through the process. Every skill I have learned has been an achievement all its own. Academically, I graduated with honors, Cum Laude, which I worked extremely hard for. I learned that even the hardest work tends to be the most rewarding, and that is why I have such a passion for helping others and why I want to do my part in supporting the community in which I reside.
