About Jourdan Ringenberg

My current work focuses on wildlife disease biology and mitigating disease transmission between wildlife and domestic animals. I manage data and biological samples associated with national disease surveillance projects, including RHDV2, plague, tularemia, classical swine fever, psuedorabies virus, brucellosis, and avian influenza. My graduate research focused on eastern cottontails (Sylvilagus floridanus) and how they select habitat in fragmented, agricultural landscapes. My research interests are based in wildlife biology and aim to better manage wildlife species in response to anthropogenic and environmental changes. My continued career foci and interests are based in animal behavior and welfare. My research background is in domestic animal behavior and welfare, lab animal behavior and toxicology, zoo animal behavior and welfare, and wildlife behavior and ecology.
