About Joy Childs

As a current BA/MA Clinical Mental Health Counseling student at Lancaster Bible College, I am eager to use my education and experiences to positively impact my community. Hard work and academic rigor has helped me establish a strong academic background with a current GPA of 3.9 that was formed from my years at Souderton Area High School, graduating in 2020 with a 4.0 GPA. In addition to my academic achievements, I have gained valuable experience in various roles. As Student Support Staff in the Adult Education Services department, I monitored student profiles, aided prospective students in the admissions process, tracked their progress, and supported other departmental areas. I was also a Teachers Assistant at Little Red Playschool, where I facilitated group play, created lesson plans, and organized weekly group projects. At LCBC Church, I was a Small Group Leader, mentored children, directed small group discussions, and assisted in various areas of the church. Along with my experience, I possess a variety of skills that make me a valuable asset to any team. I am an excellent communicator, culturally competent, empathetic, and detail-oriented. I have strong problem-solving skills and am able to operate under pressure while managing my time effectively. Furthermore, I am proficient in a variety of software such as CRM, CV Systems, Mongoose, Formstack, Slate, Microsoft Excel, Word, Anthology, PowerPoint, and Outlook. I am excited to continue my journey in the field of Clinical Mental Health Counseling and look forward to utilizing my skills and experience to make a positive impact in the lives of those around me!
