About Joy Koh

Joy brings over 15 years of coaching experience from 4 countries, all with very different training methodologies. When competing at the National Level some 20 years ago, Joy found it hard to obtain the proper instruction that was necessary to reach her potential as an athlete. This compelled her to learn from leading coaches from around the world and was fortunate to be personally mentored by Australia's former National Coach. Whilst coaching in Australia, Joy was appointed Assistant Coach at the 2010 National Championships by her state. Joy coached at the International Gymnastics Camp in the USA alongside Nastia Liukin, Danell Leyva and Paul Hamm. Prior to transitioning back into the world of gymnastics, Joy first obtained her Bachelor's degree from the Australian National University with a major in International Business. She went on to join a young start-up, and quickly rose to lead the Operations team with an aggressive expansion plan to become Australia's Fastest Growing Franchise in 2010/2011. After relocating back to Singapore, Joy joined one of WPP's Companies as a Consumer Insight specialist of diverse categories. In this role, she worked with one of the largest FMCG companies in the world to deliver insights to their brands and to ensure their communication is in alignment with their marketing strategy. It wasn't before a short stint with Nike Singapore (Marketing) that she realized her heart is still in igniting and developing passion through sports. Joy continues to contribute back to the local gymnastics community as a member of the WAG committee within Singapore Gymnastics, which oversees the technical direction and development of the sport in the nation. Joy has recently taken on the role of National Judging Coordinator, after becoming the youngest FIG judge in Singapore in 2003. She has been judging on the international circuit since, and remains the first judge from Singapore to have judged at a World Championships.
