About Joy Lafreniere

I have been a full-time teacher in the middle years for 35 years and I am always in high demand, as I speak French and have expertise in the instruction and connection with Grade 5, 6 and 7 children. I was known as "the teacher to have" and parents and students alike wanted to be in my classroom. I am retired for 1-1/2 years now and I am experiencing many wonderful terms in other, much smaller school divisions than the one for which I was employed, for 33 years. I'm discovering the joys of working in smaller divisions and the personal touches and connections with upper management (superintendents, administers, secretary treasurers) who actually care for their employees and personally visit and work together to achieve educational goals in these challenging times. How refreshing! How lovely to be involved in today's education with professionals who treat other teachers like professionals, and try to be available and assist in our common goals for students.
