About Joy Opaluwa

I am a purpose-driven, people-oriented, goal and results-oriented Certified Change Agent, Finance, Green and Healthy Building professional with over seven years of experience dedicated to lifelong learning and continuous improvement. I excel in implementing valuable solutions and delivering projects and change programs on time and within scope and budget, ensuring adherence to internal controls without applying constraints to expansion efforts. Most recently, I helped IFSE move to a newly renovated suite in a LEED Gold & WELL Health Safety Rated building. This reduced their office carbon footprint by 43%, repurposed 85% of furniture, and donated 15% for reuse and recycling, saving $1.8M over the new lease term. I also completed a LEED project experience with Green Living Projects, where I learned how to apply the LEED BD+C rating system for new construction projects and employ best practices. Clean air, water and healthy soils are resources I love; they are vital to humanity, the environment and the other creatures that share our planet. This passion fuels my desire to help people and our planet thrive, creating a regenerative and sustainable future for all. My knowledge and experience across disciplines have exposed me to the essential roles they play in funding, raising awareness, and resolving issues in sustainability, thereby supporting the Canadian and Global Goals to reduce total GHG emissions by 2030, meet climate objectives, transition to a low-carbon economy and net-zero emissions by 2050. As a lifelong learner, I always seek new opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills. I am pursuing further studies to enhance my skills and contribute knowledge gained and service to building a sustainable, regenerative, circular Canadian and World economy.
