About Joy Rodgers

Joy Rodgers LMT/ CGMT (certified geriatric massage therapist), nurse was intrigued with touch and healing from a very young age. Having the benifit of a mother and grandmother as nurses you could say "it runs in the family". After many years as a nurse, serving the geriatric population, Joy saw and realized that the need for touch-authentic, meaningful and with honest intent was needed in the nursing profession and decided the best way to do this was to become a massage therapist. Joy realized her calling was not only geriatric massage but specializing in clients with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. After seeing her grandmother suffer from this horrible disease and the need of touch to sooth anxiety, loneliness, fear, pain and change to a world and family they no longer know. Joy also experience cancer first hand with her mother being diagnosed twice with breast cancer and learning the value in therapeutic touch in this population.
