About Joy Wright

I'm the Founder and CEO of Emerge Advocacy: Youth Workers bringing a #VoiceOfHope to young people in A&E because of self-harm, suicide attempt or emotional crisis. As a professional youth worker since I've led projects supporting vulnerable young people in the Midlands and Surrey, in particular, enabling volunteers to engage with needs in their communities. I am passionate about building teams which are empowering and releasing. I have many years experience working in faith based settings and have worked in an acute psychiatric setting within the NHS. Since founding Emerge in 2016, I have learned a lot about working with faith-based and statutory partners to deliver youth work for mental health in ED departments. Beginning in Guildford, and now spreading out across Surrey, Kent and beyond, I have a vision to facilitate replication nationally which fills me with excitement and trepidation in almost equal measures!
