About Joyce Faragasso

An educator since 1993, my passion for best practices and meeting the needs of the individual learner is evident from the various educational positions I have occupied; ranging from Reading Specialist, regular education teacher, gifted education teacher, private education consultant/advocate, and presenter. I have taught from the Kindergarten to graduate level at a university. In my current position, I am responsible for teaching gifted students (K-12), case managing, and program development. I believe in "thinking outside the box" to meet the needs of gifted learners and the twice the exceptional child. My area of expertise is single subject and whole grade level acceleration. During the pandemic, the role has shifted to incorporate a transition program for at-risk high school students to successfully reach graduation requirements. Outside of the classroom, I am an education consultant, advocate, and presenter. Experience presenting has encompassed the county, state, and national level on various topics trending gifted education include; present levels of instruction, comprehensive approach to programming, the social-emotional needs of the gifted learner, building gifted services within a district, and acceleration. She is available for consulting services for district gifted programming, as well as, for families of gifted students, bridging the gap between family and district. My certification is held by the Board of Education in New Jersey & Pennsylvania: Early Childhood, Elementary, Reading Specialist, Supervisor for Curriculum and Instruction, English, and Psychology. I have authored a children's book, Never Too Little (2018). Outside of the school setting, I am a travel agent and wedding officiate.
