About Joyce Lim

With over 9 years of experience in design, I am passionate about creating user-centered solutions that enhance the quality of life and the environment. My mission is to apply my skills in user experience design, graphic design, and Figma to create impactful products and services that address the needs and challenges of diverse communities and stakeholders. Currently, I am working as a User Experience Designer at Hack for LA, a non-profit organization that connects designers, developers, and activists to collaborate on civic projects. I am part of a multidisciplinary team that is developing a TDM Calculator, a tool that helps real estate developers design better projects for Los Angeles. In this role, I create wireframes and prototypes, and test and iterate on the design solutions. I also work as a Project Designer at Handel Architects, a leading architectural firm that specializes in multifamily residential and mixed-use buildings. I am responsible for developing design sets, organizing meetings with consultants and clients, and solving project challenges within budget. In addition, I run a blog that explores the relationship between food and Korean-American identity, where I share my recipes, stories, and insights.
