Currently involved in supervision of Master of Public Health students and Health Promotion Post graduate Diploma students, developing teaching materials, teaching and supervising/promoting Postgraduate students. Served as an external examiner for the University of Venda and University of Western Cape on Public Health Promotion topics. A current leader for the Global Health Program at the Pennsylvania State University, Department of Biobehavioral Health for their Global Health Minor exchange Program and Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences and two Book Chapters emerged: 1. Fostering Dialogues in Global Health Education: A Graduate and Undergraduate Approach. Book Title: Global Health Collaboration: Challenges and Lessons. Building Competency for Health Promoting Schools Development in Resource-Limited Settings: Case Studies from South Africa. Book title: Health Promotion. Presented conference papers and Posters on HPS and HIV/AIDS. Presented a paper at Tabina Circuit in Mopani District titled ‘Improving Educational outcomes through Health Promoting Schools (HPS) Initiative’ for the High School Principals. A preliminary need assessment was conducted among learners to enquire about the risk behaviors that interfere with their academic performance and the entry points were determined for HPS in High Schools of Tabina Circuit. Being a guest lecturer for Health Promotion Training program at WITS University, for the Research Modules at Tshwane University of Technology and Pensylvania University added more experience in academia. Took part on the UL Health Promotion research project (PREPARE) with colleagues from University of Cape Town, University of Dar Salam, Muhibili University and a few European Universities from Norway and the Netherlands with one co-authored article: Abraham, H. Onya, L. Aarø, J. Smith, H. Devine-Wright, A. Wubs, S. Ramatsea, M. Themane, J. Mashamba (2015). Evaluation of a culturally-situated, research-based HIV-prevention program in South African Schools. European Health Psychologist, 17(S), 319. The 21 years of teaching aided in the development of the research career and capacity building through supervision of B. Tech Students, Post Graduate Diploma students, Masters and PhD students, instilling in students the importance of knowledge management to improve practice and provide quality client care. Successfully supervised 21 Masters and has reviewed 7 Proposals for doctoral candidates. Serving as an internal examiner for Master of Public Health students and a reviewer of articles for IUHEP(2021).
