About Joyce Wu

I’m an architectural designer with a strong interest in how architectural design can create meaningful encounters through everyday spaces. My graduate thesis explored Vancouver’s laneways as potential third spaces—using design, policy, and urban acupuncture strategies to awaken awareness of the city’s hidden systems and foster community connection. In my works, I strive to balance research-driven design with community-oriented practice, whether through urban interventions, cultural centers, or collaborative housing projects. I believe architecture is not only about form, but also about storytelling—creating spaces that reflect cultural identity, encourage social interaction, and bring people closer to their surroundings. Beyond design, I bring hands-on skills in Rhino, Revit, adobe suite and render engine, paired with a strong portfolio of architectural drawings, renderings, and research publications. I’m open to any opportunities and possibilities where I can contribute to projects at the intersection of urban design, community engagement, and architectural practice. Let’s connect!
