About Joyce Yip Green
Joyce Yip Green, PhD is a licensed marriage and family therapist, professor and consultant who works on policy and practice levels to impact individuals, professionals and communities towards improving their health and wellbeing. She received her Masters degree in Marital Family Therapy/Clinical Art Therapy at Loyola Marymount University and her PhD in International Psychology, Organizations and Systems concentration at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Her research interests include culture, parenting, development, and immigration and acculturation. She has presented nationally and internationally on her cultural research examining socialization goals and parenting beliefs of Rwandan infant caregivers. Her current research investigates the acculturation processes of Korean and Lao Americans. For over 20 years, she has worked as a mental health therapist to individual, couples and families in outpatient, intensive services, residential, and school-based programs in Southern California. Her extensive experience as a program manager and supervisor includes oversight of DMH intensive services programs and programs serving children 0-5 and their families. Her prior work includes identifying cross-sector core competencies for multidisciplinary service providers of young children in the sectors of mental health, child welfare, early care and education, health, and early intervention. She has provided reflective consultation to early care and education centers, non-profit, and government agencies to enhance programs, policies, and staff development. Dr. Green specializes in the use of art modalities in the treatment of individuals and families across the lifespan. As an endorsed Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist and a Reflective Practice Facilitator Level II, she integrates an ecological model and systems theory of care to reflective, strength-based and relationship-based practices. Dr. Green is a Board Certified Registered Art Therapist and an International Psychologist. She currently serves as assistant professor at Loyola Marymount University Marital and Family Therapy, with specialization in Art Therapy program. She is also an adjunct professor and dissertation mentor for the International Psychology program at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is co-founder of Linc International, an organization that builds cultural bridges and collaborative solutions for humanity. Dr. Green currently serves as the VP for Communication and Publications of APA Division 52 International Psychology.
