About Joyeuse Senga

I am a Research Associate at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, Sinai Health, where I lead cutting-edge research at the intersection of public health, social medicine, and health equity. My work focuses on dismantling systemic barriers to care particularly in equitable access to diabetes technologies and young-onset type 2 diabetes care. I have led and contributed to national and international projects addressing vaccine equity, mental health, blood donation disparities, and chronic disease management among structurally marginalized populations. As the Founder and Executive Director of Friends Career Center (FCC), I spearhead youth empowerment initiatives in Rwanda and Canada that integrate mental health, mentorship, and career development. I also founded MentorHub, an ed-tech platform bridging underserved youth with mentorship, career guidance, skill-building tools, and professional networks. With advanced proficiency in R, SPSS, NVivo, and REDCap, I design, lead, and translate research into actionable strategies that shape policy, inform practice, and amplify community voices. I am grounded in a strong commitment to equity, justice, and youth agency and strive to transform systems and create meaningful, lasting impact.
