About Joyjayanti Chatterjee

I am a lawyer by training, a public policy nerd, and a social impact enthusiast at heart. Passionate about innovation, relation-building, and strategic consulting, I am dedicated to enhancing the quality of public policy engagement in both the public and private sectors. I thrive in leadership roles where I am engaging with complex regulatory environments, utilising my skills in stakeholder engagement and policy strategy, and leveraging my expertise to drive impactful policy solutions and business outcomes. I enjoy collaborating with diverse teams, learning from varied perspectives, and empowering my clients to achieve their goals. Nothing excites me like visualising the "bigger picture" and breaking down a complex problem and solving it. With over 12 years of global experience in public policy, social impact, and law, I hold a Master of Laws from Columbia Law School with a focus on antitrust, corporate, and intellectual property law. As a Senior Associate at OTT Consulting, a global platform for social change, I work with and for funders, helping them maximise the impact and efficiency of their giving. Most recently, I was a Director at Speyside Corporate Affairs, a leading multinational public affairs consultancy firm. I provided strategic advice to clients across Canada, India, Europe, and Asia Pacific, across highly regulated sectors such as finance, healthcare, F&B, and tech. I helped them navigate regulatory and policy challenges, market entry, and stakeholder engagement, playing a pivotal role in driving business impact in complex and emerging markets. Earlier, I was previously a Research Fellow at Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, a prominent legal research and policy think tank in India, where I advised the government on the drafting of crucial financial sector laws. My proudest accomplishment includes advising the Ministry of Finance on the implementation of path breaking reforms including a first of its kind financial resolution law, and India's first net neutrality regulations. I take pride in my ability to adapt to complex and emerging markets, using my insights to drive impactful business and policy solutions. I have a strong ability to lead and inspire teams, and navigate complex situations with empathetic and effective communication. Outside of work, you will find me curled up with a good book, trying out new recipes while delving into their history, and dreaming of my next travel destination. Music keeps me energised and I'm forever looking to learn something new. Life is an adventure and I'm always ready for the next one!
