About Ju Hong

I am a dedicated and self-driven professional with extensive experience in managing programs, conducting community outreach, and performing complex policy analysis. In my current role as the program and financial specialist at the Alameda County Social Services, I am responsible for contract management, budgeting, and auditing social services vendors. In my previous role as the Associate Governmental Program Analyst at the Immigration and Refugee Branch of the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), I oversaw a $45 million Immigration Services budget, which funds over 100 community-based organizations to provide legal services to immigrant communities throughout California. I have excellent communication skills with more than ten years of experience in organizing diverse groups while managing small and large programs for both government and nonprofit organizations. I am deeply passionate about immigrant rights, education equity, and racial justice issues. I have appeared on national and international media from CNN to NPR, and have been quoted by the New York Times, Washington Post, BBC News, and others. I wrote numerous opinion piece in the Huffington Post, The Hill, DailyCal, and others. Also, I have a personal documentary called Halmoni, and I am a certified coach through the Leadership that Works.
