About Juan Chavez

I studied an MSc. Motorsports Engineering at Oxford Brookes University. I worked for one year as a Mechanical Design Engineer at GE Aerospace for the LEAP engine program. I worked in the past as a Sr. Diagnostic Engineer at asTech in the collision automotive sector working on GM group (GMC, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, Saturn and Pontiac), FCA Group (Fiat, Chrysler, Dodge, Maserati, Jeep and Alfa Romeo) and Nissan/Infiniti performing scans and car remote repairing with OEM tools. Mentor of diagnostic engineers for FCA Group and Nissan/Infiniti. I worked at GTTC (General Electric Toshiba Turbine Components of Mexico) where I had the Materials Intern position and a couple of months in CMM Programmer Intern where I was in charge of the management and optimization of the material used in the whole plant, quotations, supplier management, logistics, contact with leaders of GE's materials departments and component orders supporting my leaders and learning from them at that time. In addition to this, I was simultaneously carrying out a multidisciplinary project of design and manufacturing of racing cars called UANL Racing Team, where I was the leader and founder of the project and in charge of more than 30 people. I have experience in mechanical design, stress and CFD simulations, 3D printing and implementation of process improvements in the industry to decrease operational costs.
