I have spent most of my professional life in academia. After getting my Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from #Universidad de Medellín I obtained a MsC Degree in Structural Engineering and a PhD in Computational Mechanics from University at Buffalo, NY. During the last 20 years (2002-2022) I have worked as a faculty member in the Civil Engineering Department at Universidad EAFIT where I have conducted research, mostly in the wide field of elastic wave propagation & hl=en). At EAFIT I taught (and continue to teach) Computational Modelling and Finite Elements now as a lecturter. In June 2022 I decided to make a move to the private industry taking the leadership of Risk and Design Consulting which is a Technology Based Company offering solutions in the field of Earthquake Engineering. A major focus of our company is the development of computational tools that help engineers in the solution of complex problems.
