About Jude King

I'm at an exciting point in my career, building my experience managing and developing community projects within the sustainability sector. Combining my entrepreneurial skills and my passion for bringing people together and improving communities. I'm studying a BA in International Studies part-time with the Open University and currently working full time for Resource Futures, an environmental consultancy based in Bristol. In my previous role with Sustainable Merton I saw the impact of the project grow from saving 650kg food from waste to over per month. The number of households benefiting from that food grew from 50 per week to over 220. We featured on 5 news, the cover of My Merton magazine and were chosen to pilot multiple projects in conjunction with large nationwide organisations. During my 10 years as Director and Co-Founder of Hannibal Brown I have developed skills in every area of running a small business - marketing, sales, logistics, events management, social media, graphic design, customer service, book keeping, inventory management, catering and the list goes on. It has taught me to be truly flexible and highly organised. As a sportsperson (hockey - England O40s, tennis, watersports, snow-sports) you'll see that I am competitive and a team player. I give 100% and will do all I can to help the team succeed. I have captained my hockey teams for 9 years of my playing career, regularly exercising my leadership and management skills. During my time with the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG 2010-2012) I gained valuable project management and large scale event experience. The role also involved recruiting, training and managing 2400 volunteers. I have also worked in the public sector for 2 years within the housing system, which provided a real insight into the system of social housing and its strengths and weaknesses. Also an excellent opportunity to have a direct, positive affect on peoples lives, which was rewarding. I am a trained plumber and have worked in the plumbing industry for two years, I have also worked in the role of Front of House manager in sailing resorts in Turkey and I have done some home caring work too.
