About Judith Neumann

Climate expert at Umweltbundesamt/ Environment Agency Austria since 2022. Author (first book publication published by oekom, 2023) and freelance journalist (e.g. DER STANDARD). Graduated in 2022 in International Development M.A. at the University of Vienna with a thematic focus on "Climate crisis and socio-ecological transformation". Master's thesis on the barriers to implementing the demand for Climate Justice in the context of the 26th UN Climate Conference in Glasgow. During studies worked as a lecturer and organiser of lecture series on "Anti-racism" and as a student assistent/ tutor on "Urban devolpment and transdisciplinary international development research". Received a scholarship of the University of Vienna for outstanding performance (year 2021). After conducting an ERASMUS semester at Universidad de Granada worked as an intern at empirica Berlin and in the field of press and communications in Brussels at Goethe Institut Belgium. Recently worked as an environmental communicator and a workshop facilitator in various Austrian NGOs. Experienced in writing, political work, public relations, workshop facilitation, moderation, event management, EU project co-ordination, project financing, networking, reporting, environmental communication and participatory processes of awareness raising.
