About Juha Haaga

Every company should know when external information shows they are vulnerable or already compromised in a cyber incident. Cyber incident notifications need to be accessible, automated, and efficient to free more resources for tasks that genuinely require human attention. As the principal in our CSIRT Development Program, I work with national CSIRT/CERT teams to help them deploy this kind of national cyber security early warning services for their constituency. The program's goal is to scale up cybersecurity notification systems in every country, reaching thousands or tens of thousands of companies. I'm passionate about product development and understanding how to develop cybersecurity solutions that focus on simplicity rather than complexity. My primary experience is automating incident-handling processes relating to national network abuse notifications and developing tools for that purpose. I'm working with Arctic's own Early Warning Service to make security information accessible to every company on this planet—not just the companies with large budgets and in-house cybersecurity teams and the governments with large cybersecurity budgets, even though we can often help those companies just as much! When I get the opportunity, I can often be found evangelizing at various events on the importance and the best practices of national cyber security notifications.
