About Juha Haukka

I got interested in aviation when I was doing my military service in the airforce. I realised that flying was more than just operating the airplane. It was also understanding the aerodynamics, mechanics, meteorology, physics, air law and human performance including psychology to name a few. With this realisation I applied to Finnish Aviation Academy after my military service and got my commercial pilot licence (CPL) with airline transport pilot licence –theoretical knowledge (frozen ATPL) in just 2,5 years. Due to the global economical crisis in 2008 I was forced to keep my dream to become an airline pilot alive, even though it was hard at times, for another 5 years. In the mean time I started working as a cargo worker at the Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport and got my first taste of the Aviation Industry. Finally I got my first flying job when I started my flight career at Ryanair in 2015. A few years later I got the opportunity to start at Finnair in 2017 and I was able to start working from my home town.
