About Juha Mikkola

I love games. This passion evolved into a career when my Game Development studies took me to Shanghai for an internship. What began as a 5-month stint turned into 10 years of incredible life experiences, amazing food (!) and significant professional growth. During my decade in China I also learned the language and developed a deep cultural understanding. My work has always involved managing teams and facilitating effective, transparent communication between team members and stakeholders. These are my strong suits. I take joy in solving problems in order for the team to work more efficiently and to get features shipped for players to enjoy. Most recently, I have been navigating the complex Chinese market, bringing global hits to the region in close cooperation with developers such as Playrix, Small Giant Games, Fingersoft, Gram Games and more. Over the past couple of years, several Chinese titles have matched or even exceeded Western counterparts in terms of quality and performance. At the same time,(short) video has surpassed games as the #1 entertainment on mobile. It's time for games to step up, evolve and win back some of that precious screen time. I want to be a part of this because, you know, I love games.
