All views expressed are my own. Essentially, I was a data scientist before it was cool. I have an academic background and a broad base of experience that informs how I analyze data and which tools I use. I have had the privilege to work as an analyst and analytic director in several different verticals including traditional market research, internet marketing, online financial services and online B2B / B2C retailing. This range of challenges forced me to both narrow and broaden my scope as required allowing me to understand the inner workings of a situation and external influencing variables in great depth. As a market research consultant, clients allow me to look 'under the hood' and I have learned to quickly assess and focus in on the areas where biggest differences can be realized. Sometimes I am faced with only a dataset and a known problem. Sometimes it is dataset and a shrug of the shoulders from the client. Sometimes it is anecdotal. Regardless, I am excited to take on the challenge. I love watching the gears move and the numbers dance… always trying to predict their next step. I enjoy getting in, rolling up my sleeves and letting the data run through my fingers so I can get a full sense of how a business is doing, what the Key Performance Indicators are, and then turn focused attention on the parts of the business that matter most for their context.
