About Jules Lalog

Why Nursing: As the daughter of an O.R. nurse and a PACU nurse, working in the healthcare industry has been a dream of mine ever since I was young. Inspired by the way my parents bettered the lives of others, I sought to dedicate my life doing the same. In high school, I applied and was accepted into a healthcare program that aimed to provide students interested in medicine foundational skills and real-world experience. It was through this program that I got to experience caring for patients firsthand. Through my two internships, I not only gained invaluable knowledge and experience, but also came to the realization that there is nothing more fulfilling than caring for others. This realization solidified my passion for healthcare, and led me to pursue a career in nursing. What's Next: As my four years at USF comes to a close, I look forward to applying the skills I have cultivated through my education, work experience, and volunteer opportunities as a New Graduate Registered Nurse. Relevant skills and experiences include- Five Years of Patient Care Experience as a Nursing Student, Patient Care Assistant at CareYaya, and Student Intern for Kaiser Permanente and Dignity Health - Therapeutic Communication Skills as a Crisis Counselor for Crisis Text Line - ‍ Servant Leadership, Project Management, Collaboration, and Communication Skills as the Vice President of Programming - Four Years of Customer Service Experience in Retail/Food Service Settings 🫀 Work Philosophy: Having been on the receiving end of the wonderful care provided to one of my family members, I understand how transformative empathy, understanding, and kindness are to a patient and their family.
