Driven by deep respect for surgical craftsmanship, I thrive on turning complex medical problems into elegant, human-centered mechanical solutions. My focus has always been on creating devices that improve surgical outcomes, making procedures safer, faster, and more intuitive for surgeons. In 2005, I founded DEAM, with cofounder Wimold Peters joining a few years later. Initially focused on the development of spin-off technology from the Delft University of Technology into the medical device field. After many years of gaining deep industry insights and honing our technical expertise, in 2017, we decided to steer DEAM towards creating our own proprietary products. This strategic shift marked the beginning of our journey into full-scale medical device innovation. When we developed our first proprietary device, the LaproFlex—a steerable laparoscopic instrument—we achieved CE certification and brought it to market within just two years of completing the conceptual design. This rapid and successful market introduction highlights our team's dedication to excellence, efficiency, and ability to navigate the complex regulatory landscape. Our team’s expertise spans production, CE certification, quality management systems, intellectual property management, clinical validation, surgeon training, and marketing. We are committed to invention and human-centered design, ensuring that our devices meet the highest standards of usability and safety.
