Throughout the Masters program and the summer upon graduation, I taught Intro to Financial Accounting at ASU while also studying for and ultimately obtaining my CPA license. I began my career at Heinfeld Meech & Co. as an Auditor and a Consultant, specializing in School District, Municipality and Non-Profit Finance. From there, I obtained the position of Financial Analyst, External Reporting at Republic Services, Inc. where I concentrated on the External Reporting requirements of a Fortune 500 Company with over $8 billion/year in revenue. This included preparing the company's cash flow statement and various environmental and legal related disclosures. I was then promoted to Senior Financial Analyst, External Reporting which included increased responsibilities relating to our Landfill and Environmental models- creating and maintaining the budget models utilizing macros. Next, I took on a new opportunity within the company and became the Assistant Controller for our Phoenix Hauling division, where I managed the entire close process and accounting workflow for a division with over $80 million/year in revenue. All of this experience led me to my current position of Controller, Environmental Reserves. I currently manage all of the company's Superfund and Remediation reserves, including the budget models and monthly forecasting, and also assist with various landfill analyses.
