About Julia A. Tasca

Driven by my passion for biochemistry and disease intervention, I specialize in uncovering the molecular mechanisms that govern protein–ligand interactions in the context of disease and immune response. I am skilled in identifying structure–function relationships in proteins using a variety of skills including bottom-up proteomics, small molecule mass spectrometry, ChIP-MS, IP-MS, XL-MS, liquid chromatography (normal and reverse phase), protein expression and purification, protein–ligand binding assays, nanopore sequencing, molecular cloning, and many more.My career highlights-Developed a high-throughput mass spectrometry-based platform to identify therapeutic targets and measure binding affinity (U.S. Provisional Patent No. 63/551,584)-Collaborated with scientists across diverse disciplines—including bioinformaticians, disease ecologists, and conservation biologists – so far resulting in 8 publications and 2 manuscripts-Mentored early-career scientists in research ethics, mass spectrometry, and biochemistry, supporting their development into careers in patent law, academia, and industry.This year, I have begun my career in industry as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Vaccine Immunobiology, where I will be developing and implementing novel approaches to assess functional immune responses to vaccines.
