About Julia Atlas
Was born in Rostov on Don, South of Russia, graduated Rostov State University with a Master Degree in Molecular Biology. Upon emigrating to USA in 1991, worked as a researcher at Harvard Medical School. When Atlas family moved to Scotland, founded Russian Cultural Centre and Cafe –Gallery Cossachok in Glasgow. Designed and delivered a number of internationally acclaimed operatic, theatrical and musical projects Was a creative director of 'Celtic Connections and Gipsy Music' programmes and ‘Celtic-Cossack Connections' musical and educational project supported by EU Cultural Commission, which involved cultural collaboration between Scottish Opera, RSAMD (RCS), Rostov State Music Theatre, Russian Cultural Centre and Rostov State Conservatoire. 2015/2016/2017 coordinates Glasgow - Rostov on Done Twinning Cultural Programmes in cooperation with Lord Provost International Office Glasgow City Council. 2016 -17 managing administrator of the Erasmus Plus project between Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Rostov State Rachmaninov Conservatoire.
