About Julia Balli

I am a current lecturer for CST 110-Communicating Effectively at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Graduating in 2024, I am a former graduate student and teaching assistant in the Communication and Media Studies program at Marquette University. Prior to Marquette, I graduated from UW-La Crosse with a Communication Studies major and a Professional & Technical Writing minor. During my undergraduate career, I received the Top Paper award for my scholarly research surrounding communications mental health communication in work environments at the 2022 Central States Communication Association Conference. I also worked at The Racquet Press, UWL's student news source, for over three years and was promoted to the Executive Editor position. This position has helped me capitalize on skills such as communication, editing, writing, and team management. I have also worked in many customer service positions and volunteer work, allowing me to develop my skills. Experiences through these positions and in the classroom have taught me how to ensure accuracy in my work, working under tight deadlines, and being a team leader.
