Background

About Julia Bartie

I am a recent Summa Cum Laude graduate of Tufts University, where I majored in Psychology and English and earned a minor certificate in History. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Sport & Performance Psychology at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology. My applied work focuses on helping both athletes and tactical professionals perform under pressure and develop resilient strategies for recovery. I’m particularly interested in the intersection of mental skills training, biofeedback, and psychophysiological tools to enhance performance in endurance and high-stakes environments. I’m also an avid traveler, trail runner, and skier — experiences that continually push me outside my comfort zone and inform my interest in how challenge shapes the brain and identity. I’m drawn to understanding how discomfort, uncertainty, and exploration, whether on the trail or in a new country, can foster psychological growth and performance adaptability. Long-term, I hope to pursue a PhD and contribute to applied research that advances performance and well-being in both athletic and tactical domains. I’d love to connect — feel free to reach out to talk performance psychology, research,(or hiking)! julia.bartie@du.edu
