Senior cellular immunologist with extensive background in the analysis of T cell activation and effector function. Strong interest and commitment to the development of therapeutic modifiers of immunoregulation in human disease. Have successfully conducted experimentation regarding the role of B7 family members in the context of T cell costimulation. Most recent research involves an extensive analysis of the Programmed Death 1 pathway at the cellular and molecular levels in human primary T cells. Effectively analyzed the reconstitution of T cell effector function in patients with hematologic malignancies transplanted with umbilical cord blood. Experienced in the evaluation of novel monoclonal antibodies in T cell assays. Research has involved both human and murine based studies. Excellent ability to communicate research objectives and present experimental data in verbal and written format. Specialties: Cellular and Molecular biology: ELISpot assay, ELISA, multi-color FACS analysis, SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation, PCR, isolation of RNA and DNA, isolation of various T cell subsets using magnetic bead-based techniques, derivation of human dendritic cells and CD4+CD25+ T cell lines, creation and maintenance of T cell lines and clones. T cell proliferation assays: 1. mixed lymphocyte reaction (MLR); 2. peptide titration; 3. monoclonal antibodies immobilized to solid supports.
