About Julia Chen

I am a pediatric neuropsychologist in The Center for Neuropsychological Services (CNS) at Northwell Health. I specialize in neuropsychological evaluation of children, adolescents, and young adults with neurological, neurodevelopmental, psychiatric, and other complex medical conditions. In a neuropsychological evaluation, I work with individuals to help them understand difficulties they may have with attention, language, academics, daily living skills, memory, mood, and behavior in the context of what we know about brain-behavior relationships. I then collaborate with patients and their families, schools, and other providers to provide recommendations to optimize their functioning at home, school, and in the community. I am passionate about clinical supervision and mentorship of our next generation of psychologists and neuropsychologists. I approach my clinical work and supervision with a goal of demystifying and increasing accessibility of neuropsychological services for patients and communities of all backgrounds. My work on the Advocacy Committee of the Asian Neuropsychological Association is a piece of this work towards healthcare equity for minoritized communities.
