About Julia Collins

Julia Collins is a Registered Dietitian in Ontario. She also received her Master of Public Health from the Nutrition and Dietetics stream at The Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. The Dalla Lana School of Public Health (DLSPH), is a regional and global leader in public health education, research and service, with one of the largest concentrations of academic population and public health researchers in Canada and more than $30 million in research funding each year. Julia's interests include population health and long term care. As a Professional Home Economist she utilizes her specialized education and training in order to promote and enhance individuals, specifically in the LTC homes in Ontario, with their everyday lives. Before starting her Masters she attended Western University in London, Ontario. She was an active member of the school community where she held executive positions on many clubs and committees. Julia has also worked in an array of Long Term Care homes, retirement homes and in the food industry. She is passionate about upstream approaches and bridging the gap from prevention to palliation. The clinical public health system in evolving, Julia aims to have a unique perspective and to gain expertise as a food and nutrition professional.
